RenewaFi’s price tracker combines a neutral valuation methodology with price quotes from the world’s largest and most respected energy firms. This allows our members to not only track day-to-day changes in the value of renewables and batteries but also to see how those changes affect the real-world behavior of sellers and offtakers.
Our model uses industry best practices and was developed in consultation with industry experts. The key inputs come from reputable sources like ERCOT and the largest electricity contract brokers in the world. We also make certain of our calculations, like our scalars, available upon request. In addition, the tracker is powered by actual activity from our marketplace of hundreds of originators. Our marketplace features over 1,600 bids and offers, representing dozens of GW of potential PPAs and BESS tolls, and is the only resource that has bid prices from the world’s most reputable offtakers. We ensure the accuracy of our model by testing its outputs against these bids.
We worked with reputable consultants, including Guidepost Energy, to develop and audit the methodology. We also beta tested it with about a dozen of our market participants.
